The latest version of our mobile app features a cleaner design and additional controls for a more intuitive experience. All with the ability to continue adding features and functionality as the app grows over time.
Version 2.0 of the app gives you a whole new window into your vehicle and makes it easier to access all the features you use the most. You can now see what’s going on with your vehicle at a glance and take action the moment you need to — whether you’re checking in on charging progress or making the cabin temperature just right.
The goal of our app redesign was simple: surface essential information and functionality at the right moments so users can access critical vehicle data within the first five seconds of opening the app. To make this happen, the mobile app team looked to current owners to help identify and prioritize the features that truly matter to them.
Status icons at the top of the app’s main screen give you an indication of what’s happening with your vehicle at any given time. Visually they’re designed to instantly inform you of what your vehicle is doing, whether you’re pre-conditioning your interior or a new software update is available. If you want to get more information, you can pull down, swipe through and tap for more in-depth views and associated controls.
With the new update, the app is able to display all the important elements of the vehicle’s status at once. So whether you’re running errands, at work, or on a hike, this clear snapshot of the vehicle’s status gives you greater peace of mind and more control at your fingertips.
When you find yourself off the beaten path, the app’s new design helps you hold on to core functionality and course-correct if you experience connectivity issues. When using your phone as a key, the app’s contextual guidance in remote conditions can be essential to keeping things working as they should.
Remote vehicle controls are close at hand in the new version of the app. Right next to the lock and unlock button you’ll find access to controls for the hood, Gear Tunnel, R1T tailgate, R1S liftgate, windows, and Gear Guard alarm.
The Rivian mobile app is central to the owner’s connected vehicle experience and working with Rivian owners enables us to continue creating the best possible experience for them. This release incorporates over 1.5 years of user feedback and internal learnings into a new design that will help us scale and deliver on our growing list of vehicle features. We’re excited to continue adding new functionality to the app.
The mobile app can be downloaded at both the Apple App Store and on Google Play and is available in the United States and Canada for iOS 16+ and Android 12+.
