Today, the Environmental Protection Agency released proposed rules for vehicle emissions. Rivian showed up to support stronger emissions standards and advocate for the future of the industry.
Transportation constitutes the single largest source of carbon emissions in the United States, and the vehicle emissions rules issued by the EPA represent the greatest carbon reductions of any federal policy. The new rules will take effect after 2027, making this moment a crucial opportunity to modernize vehicle emissions standards.
“The vehicle emissions standards proposed today are a critical addition to the Administration’s climate portfolio, and we applaud the realistic goals set forward in the headline targets. This rulemaking will guide the industry’s technological trajectory for decades to come. We look forward to providing a detailed review of the proposal, and will continue to make the case for the strongest possible standards through our products and our advocacy.”
