Adventure Essentials
The California Dune Edition elevates everything you love about the Tri-Motor R1, including the All-Terrain Package and additional accessories like a reinforced underbody shield, powered tonneau with a revised design (on R1T)* and special off-road recovery gear.
All-new 20" All-Terrain Wheels come in two varieties: you can opt for the newly introduced dark wheels or the California Dune finish to match the exterior paint of the vehicle. A range of additional accessories are also part of this special edition, including dark MAXTRAX recovery boards with mounts, dark crossbars and a spare tire, enhancing both style and utility.
"The design team was inspired by the color and warmth of the beautiful, sun-drenched dunes of Southern California to create our first bespoke, limited-edition variant of the R1 vehicles,” said Jeff Hammoud, Rivian’s Chief Design Officer. “In this unique expression, we embraced the balance between the vast, quiet terrain of the California dunes and the desire to create something that is both elevated and refined. It invites you to submit to the elements while offering colors and materials that are easy to clean but look just as good when they aren’t.”
Rugged, Yet Refined
California Dune Edition features an all-new paint color, California Dune. Inspired by the subtle natural undertones of the desert dunes with calming, earthy tones that offer a neutral and warm feeling. An exterior Darkout Package is included with Tri and showcases the contrast between the new color and badging.
The California Dune Edition also introduces an all-new Adventure interior on Tri, featuring a distinctive two-tone design with a Sandstone interior that is layered with Black Mountain on the top half. The new, durable and easy-to-clean flooring material easily shakes off sand from your desert adventures. This accompanies the all-new Sandstone interior, along with matching Sandstone Chilewich mats — creating an interior space that is functional and refined.
Go Anywhere and Do Anything
The California Dune Edition is built to tackle the toughest terrains. Based on the Tri-Motor R1, it packs two powerful motors in the rear and one in the front for unmatched off-road capability. With 850 horsepower and 1,103 lb.-ft. of torque, it can go 0–60mph in 2.9-seconds, while offering an EPA-estimated range of 329 miles*, so you can go the distance on those wide-open desert roads. Tri-Motor vehicles also include a “Soft Sand” drive mode as standard, perfect for those dune adventures.

Available now at Rivian.com, the limited California Dune Edition R1T starts at $99,900 and R1S starts at $105,900.
