Electric road trips from the sunny beaches of Southern California to the rugged canyons and plateaus across the American Southwest are easier than ever, thanks to a handful of new Rivian Adventure Network charging sites across California, Nevada, and Arizona.
Owners have more fast-charging options than ever as the Rivian Adventure Network continues to expand, and also now with the Tesla Supercharger network, which adds access to 15,000 more DC fast chargers across North America.
Rivian’s electric corridors help you get to your destination more quickly, and each charging location features DC fast chargers that can add up to 140 miles of range in 20 minutes. Should adventure strike, they also unlock the occasional side quest, off-beaten path, or dirt road.

For this trip, we took a 600-mile road trip alongside historic Route 66 from Barstow to Kingman to Flagstaff and winding down through Sedona and Phoenix to celebrate the newly electrified American Southwest. We also chose to take the scenic route and invited Rivian owners to show us some of their favorite local spots and adventures along the way.
"From swapping trail tales to sharing dog-friendly hiking spots, these chargers have become more than just pit stops—they're hubs of friendship and exploration, making our outdoor adventures with our furry companion and partner even more memorable," said Sydella Yonker, co-founder of the Arizona Rivian Club.
Know before you go: Most of our Rivian Adventure Network sites are trailer-friendly and are near amenities including food, restrooms, and areas for you to stretch your legs or take a short walk with your pet. Learn more about the Rivian Adventure Network here.

⚡️Nearby attractions: Peggy Sue’s Diner | Kramer’s Arch
We started our trip at the historic Rivian South Coast Theater, our flagship space in Laguna Beach, California, where members of local Rivian clubs joined us for a mini caravan toward our first Rivian Adventure Network stop in Barstow, California.
A handful of L.A.-area owners and their family, friends, and pets met us in Barstow to charge up before grabbing lunch at the famous roadside Peggy Sue’s Diner and taking us on an off-road adventure at nearby Kramer’s Arch.
⚡️Kingman, AZ - 6 DC fast chargers, trailer-friendly charger available
⚡️Nearby attractions: Route 66 drive-through shield | Sitgreaves Pass | Oatman, AZ
The following day, we headed down the highway toward the Rivian Adventure Network charging site in Kingman, Arizona. We were riding solo for this part of the trip, but our owners in California gave us some great tips on sites to visit. Fully charged, we visited the drive-through Route 66 shield next to the Kingman Visitors Center (don’t miss the electric vehicle museum inside).
We then made our way up Sitgreaves Pass, a curvy, mountain road that leads to Oatman, Arizona, a historic mining town that serves as a Wild West tourist stop these days, complete with gift shops and donkeys roaming the streets freely.
⚡️Flagstaff, AZ - 6 DC fast chargers, trailer-friendly charger available
⚡️Nearby attractions: Lowell Observatory | Cinders Hill
The Arizona Rivian Club greeted us in Flagstaff, Arizona, and we charged up at the new Rivian Adventure Network site there before our day of sightseeing.
We stopped to check out Lowell Observatory, a National Historic Landmark and one of the oldest observatories in the U.S. From there, we took a short drive to Cinders Hill, an off-highway recreation area known for the unique cinder cones and volcanic craters that make up the landscape.
⚡️Sedona, AZ - 6 DC fast chargers
⚡️Nearby attractions: Red Rock State Park
That afternoon, we drove 30 miles south toward Sedona. The snow-dusted mountains of Flagstaff gave way to Red Rock Country, and we made sure to stop by Red Rock State Park before ending the day at our Rivian Adventure Network charging site in Sedona.
⚡️Phoenix, AZ - 6 DC fast chargers
⚡️Nearby attractions: Dobbins Lookout
The last stop on our electric road trip through the southwest was at one of the newest Rivian Adventure Network charging sites in Phoenix. Nearly 30 Rivian owners and their family and friends came out to meet us at the new charging site for coffee, donuts, and connection. Once we were fully charged, we drove together through the city and took the scenic drive to Dobbins Lookout for more hang time.
